Wet Drum Separators are designed primarily for use in heavy media system recovery circuits for recovery of magnetite or ferrosilicon. They are designed to be fed a slurry or ‘pulp’ of finely divided particles suspended in water. Optimum pulp densities of 5% to 25% solids by weight are most commonly handled. Pulps with densities over and under this range may be handled under certain circumstances.
